Red Bull`s status as a new manufacturer is under threat from Ferrari.


The Austrian team has created the Red Bull Powertrains motor division and is set to become the new minder from 2026. Red Bull has been formally running Red Bull Powertrains engines since 2022, although Honda is still handling the powertrains. From the 2026 season, the team is going to create engines on its own.


According to It. motorsport, Ferrari may veto recognition of Red Bull as a new manufacturer. The Scuderia has not yet approved the 2026 motor regulations, although the deadline from the FIA was scheduled for November 15. Ferrari does not like that the status of the new minder will allow Red Bull to receive a number of indulgences.


The regulation has already been supported by Mercedes, Red Bull and Audi. According to the Italian publication, Renault is ready to do it, Porsche and Honda are considering options, and Ferrari is not going to sign the papers.
