Ligue 1 referee Joan Amel has died.
This was announced by the association of elite football referees in France. Amel was 42 years old.
According to L`Equipe, the cause of death of the referee was a stroke during training.
Amel has worked in Ligue 1 matches since the 2015/16 season. He was the main referee for 135 matches of the championship of France, and also served 85 games of Ligue 2.
He played his last match advised by
