Mercedes said it destroyed the competition in Vegas. Mercedes chief executive Toto Wolff shared his opinion on the double at the Las Vegas Grand Prix: George Russell won, Lewis Hamilton finished second.

Wolff was asked if he meant that Mercedes does not understand why it was so fast on this track:
No, we understand. It`s just that when you design a car, you try to make it perform well on any race track.
We seem to be very good at high speeds and in cold weather with less grip. This is something we can be proud of, but the car doesn`t perform as well when it gets warmer.
George`s aerobatics were from another planet. He kept everything under control. His defense against Leclerc was impressive, and Lewis stormed from tenth in a super-strong car to finish just five seconds behind George. Hats off.
